St. Mary's Academy students and staff celebrated the downtown Portland instituion's 150th birthday Friday by wrapping the high school building with a red ribbon and bow. Among other activities, teachers and students danced to reggae music by Chatta Addy & Susma. Founded in 1859 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, St. Mary's Academy is Oregon's oldest continuously operated secondary school and one of 716 all-female schools in the country.
